Enhancing Compliance and Ethics while Growing Markets: Development, Enforcement and Technology.
With over 77,000 members, the New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the United States. The International Section is comprised of about 2,000 members, approximately half of which are located outside the United States. Attorneys and business professionals from all over the globe attend the Section’s Seasonal Meetings to learn, expand their international practices and enjoy the focused networking offered by the luncheons, cocktail receptions, dinners, and other social and cultural events organized as part of the conferences.
This event in Guatemala is a regional effort, spearheaded by Ruby Asturias, a partner and director at Pacheco Coto in Guatemala, who is the co-chair of the event. The conference is supported by the Section’s Latin American Council, a group created to promote the rule of law throughout Latin American and the Caribbean.
The conference will consist of two full days of sessions, which will focus on recent developments in international business and public law. The panels will cover thought-provoking discussions on such topics as data protection, human rights, global labour and immigration challenges, trade secrets, investment arbitration and transnational practice and legal education in the Americas.
