Investigating the legal market and the key legal issues affecting business 

Iberian Lawyer provides a range of specialised research and analysis services. This incorporates desk research and analysis of data, qualitative research through in-depth interviews and quantitative research through surveys and questionnaires.

The specially commissioned Annual Reports provide an-depth review of the main practice areas and Iberian legal markets – including Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon – on a year-by-year basis. On average between 30 and 40 legal experts are surveyed on each Report. These provide an overview of the key legal changes which affect business, and provide an overview of the leading legal experts.

Iberian Lawyer’s In-House Club regularly researches the opinions of the General Counsel and Legal Directors of the main businesses which are active in Spain and Portugal. This includes annual research – in cooperation with the Corporate Counsel Forum of the International Bar Association (IBA) – investigating the main legal challenges faced by Iberia’s top 500 in-house lawyers, their criteria for using external lawyers and what they like and do not like about the law firms they use.
